Divya's iDevelop Literacy Learning Story

Learner: Divya K            Learning Coach: Bex Remington          Date: 2 April 2015
Learning Area: iDevelop - Daily 5 Writing
Learning Observed

During our literacy session, learners are able to choose from a range of independent activities. I have noticed the Divya enjoys the free writing choice.  She is able to choose her topic of writing and how the writing is presented.  She tends to choose to write poetry and likes to share it with others.  Sometimes Divya also completes writing pieces with other group members and this has encouraged other learners in her literacy group to write more on their own.  When I asked Divya to share a piece of writing with me she was excited to share one that she had just written.

Key Competencies/Vision Principles

Divya enjoys writing and demonstrates the ability to understand language, symbols and text. She is able to create collaborative pieces and enjoys sharing her own pieces with others which means she understands how to relate to others. She is developing her capability in writing and it will be exciting to see her written work change and grow as the year goes on.
Next Learning Steps

  • Create collaborative pieces with different learners to give her access to new ideas
  • Begin editing her writing and adding or deleting pieces
  • Share her writing with a larger audience - possibly start posting her writing to her blog
