Biomes & 7 Wonders of the world

On Friday we had a Google expedition on google cardboard we visited these biomes, tundra, tiger, tropical forest, rainforest and desert. On our second expedition we saw the 7 wonders of the world the, Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of china and statue of Jesus at rio were 3 of them. I thought this expedition was really cool because it was like hovering in a helicopter but with a 360 view. My eyes started to kinda hurt after awhile because the phone was too bright. My favorite was was the statue of Jesus because you saw above the clouds and the sunset was so awesome. I thought the Taj Mahal kinda looked like a temple until I saw the radish shaped thing at the top.

Ashmira, Jessica, Johanna and Divya's Trash to Flash Learning Story

Learners: Ashmira, Jessica, Johanna & Divya
Learning Coach: T.Dillner           Date: Term 4, Week 6-10
Learning Area: iExperience - Technology
Learning Observed and Vision Principles
In the second half of Term 4, all of the OrmPS learners have been participating in Trash to Flash - turning old used items into something new and usable.
All of the LH1 learners began this journey by spending time looking on the LH1 Pinterest account. Everyone selected a category that they were the most interested in.
Ashmira, Jessica, Johanna and Divya all selected Girls Fashion. They were curious about making an infinity scarf out of old t-shirts. However, before they could make this, they had to go through a test run with the Design Thinking Process. As a group, all of the Girl’s Fashion and Pets & Animals learners made ladybug fridge magnets.
The girls then took the template we used as a larger group and the personalised it to their infinity scarf creation, demonstrating their capability with understanding the design process. Collaboratively, they shared this template and filled it in on Google Slides.

Next Learning Steps
  • Add some photos to your blog of your final creation in Week 10.
  • Reflect on how successful your planning was, as well as how well you felt your final product turned out.
  • Make another prototype showing changes and improvements to the design.

What's it like to be libary legend.

At the libary at first it's quite lonely until your buddy comes everything gets exciting first thing me and my BUDDY! Johanna do is our work 30-15 minutes of either capability, mathletics. After finishing our work when the time for iactive comes we clean up and push in the chairs and go. We set up the libary and return the books and put them away in their spots if someone wants to issue a book or return one we quickly do that but sadly some people mess around in the libary. When 5 quick minutes pass me and johanna head out for iactive on Mondays is high jump, Tuesday's chain tag, Wednesday's whole school jump, Thursday's 100m sprint and Friday's Crab tag.

Paris terrorist attacks

HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEWS?! It's so sad about Paris, did you know that know the government for all countries have set something that if you have a crinimal record you can't enter the country? I hope New Zealand is not the next target or Canada because I'm not sure if the Syrians have bombed Canada. This had a similar story to Hawaii and Japan, japan made an attack on Hawaii a very beautiful place, and the American government were so angry they bombed a place in Japan. I forgot what the day is called but it is very memorable. People say what world war 3 is coming I'm not sure and I hope I'm not alive when it happens.

Divya's Indigenous People Learning Story

Learner: Divya    Learning Coach: T.Dillner           Date: 12.11.15
Learning Area: iExperience - Aboriginals of Australia
Learning Observed and Vision Principles
In Week 5, the Year 6 learners participated in a week long iExperience series about Indigenous People, focusing particularly on the Aboriginal people of Australia and the Native Americans of Northern America.
Divya participated showing curiosity by asking questions and engaging with the concepts shared. There were a selection of questions posed, of which the learners only needed to pick, research about and answer five of them. Divya chose to complete as many questions as she could in the given time. Afterwards, she was capable of articulating and elaborating on what she had learnt. Divya could also make connections between the two people groups that we looked at, showing that although they had many differences, the Aborigines and Native Americans had several similarities.
Divya also used some of this new found knowledge to complete an example of Indigenous art using a template of her choice and thinking about using the correct colours that might be used by that people group.

Next Learning Steps
  • Transfer the learning into her own words, as opposed to rewrite what was explicitly stated online.
  • Use this learning to inspire curiosity about another indigenous people group for an iExplore inquiry.

Places I've been

Ive been to Australia and Fiji, I'm actually going to fiji these holidays, and very recently in the holidays  I have been in Gold Coast Australia, Gold Coast is just like New Zealand. The attractions I went to was Sea world, Movie world, and wet'n wild. I have also been to Sydney in 2013 just as my sister formed in my mums tummy. Sydney was quite hot we went to a marine aquarium, a parade, and the opera house. TIP: if your ever going to Sydney never go to the opera house in the afternoons TOO MANY FLYS!  Fiji I couldn't really remember but what I do remember is sitting in this tree well the base my dads family and made this wood bench thing to sit and stand on, and what I was doing is my mum was feeding me coconut I remember we fed my dads family dog I tried but I was also too scared if the dog would bite off my finger! I have been to Fiji 3 times I was born there, went to my dads house for a trip and my grandmas funeral.

My birhday

Well it isn't excatly my birthday but it's coming up my birthday is at the 3rd of December I will turn 11 finally! I'm an adult yay well not really that is when I'm 16 not 11 by the time I'm in collage year 11 then my sister will be starting primary and then she should be 6. She will be in year 2 but what the real pain is that I will be her teacher for home learning most propbably I would finish her homework or mathletics. I actually got a early birthday present which is 3000 star coins in starstable. Yesterday was Diwalli I had got many sweets my neighbours had bought for my family butterfly Barfi which is a coloured milk powder sweet. My cousins birthday (Lily a.k.a Nivisha's birthday is coming up in November she is a similar age to my sister. She was born on the same year but a little bit later in November. Any ways I can't wait for my birthday and the holidays to come up because I will be probably playing games the whole time because it's my last time.

Diwali

Happy Diwali! Today is Diwali, Diwali is a time of year to celebrate the Hindi gods Vishnu and Lakshmi. These are the Hindu supreme gods they are like Jesus Christ, and the Budha. Diwali is a time to share love and sweets, some Hindi sweets are Ladu, gulamjamun, and Barfi. All Hindi sweets are vegetarian no egg was added these sweets are made my hand. This year my mom bought Barfi and some Giant Ladus. But we still made crunchy Ladus which taste yummy. On Diwali we offer food to the god how that works is we put a type of fruit in front of the gods statue and the soul of the fruit goes to the god. Once Diwali is over we can eat the rest of the food we offered. My favourite Indian food is Giant Ladus because they taste like they have been covered in honey. Something also about Diwali that makes it special is the fireworks. Fireworks make Diwalli stand out a part of that is Rangoli patterns Rangoli is colourful circles that are layered in different colours.

What it's like to have a anoying baby sister

Hi of course by looking by my blog you know who I am divya! Could I tell you a little bit about my sister yup that's right my sister devanshi. Some facts to get to know a baby is that if they don't like it if you keep squishing their cheeks. They will eventually get sad and try to scratch or hit you. Another fact to know is if they want something give it to them they are very whiny about little things so either hide items before they see it or give something else to them like a toy. How about food at 6 months old baby food is a big regret my sister did not accept normal food and milk bottles it was force that made her grow. Now what she drinks is up n go and eats currys and sometimes ice cream as a treat only little bits not too much. When a parent is working its up to the bigger child to look after the little one. Avoid little items that can get in her mouth for example, crumbs, small toys, plastic paper and cardboard. These items can cause serious choking and soon lead to death.
